Yoga & Aerial Yoga

YOGA and AERIAL YOGA are gentle ways to work on your strength and flexibility while promoting relaxation, reducing stress and creating better body awareness and mindfulness. We offer all-level classes in Vinyasa and Aerial Yoga. In both classes students are guided through a full-body sequence focusing on opening and strengthening the body. Aerial Yoga utilizes aerial hammocks in a low level position to gently support restorative poses and help you get deeper into your stretches.

Yoga & Tea

Fill Your Cup Yoga and Tea– A Practice to Rest and Restore

Sundays are a day of rest. Come celebrate this concept with this restorative yoga/ slow flow hybrid. With the use of props, gentle stretching, long holds, and deep breaths, this practice gives you the space to unwind your nervous system and connect with your inner peace . Slow it down, fill your cup, and give yourself permission to enjoy an easy, relaxed, and restorative Sunday morning stretch

We will be offering Holistic Tea Formulas after savasana allowing you to ease back into your day. We have locally prepared tea formulas from Harris Holistic Wellness. All Certified Organic and Fair Trade, ethically sourced from around the world.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow incorporates alignment, body awareness, mindful breathing, and creative sequences of yoga postures to rejuvenate the body and refresh the mind. Modifications are offered throughout the practice to add an extra challenge or create more ease in the body; the intensity of the class is always yogi’s choice.

Beginners VInyasa Flow
Beginners Vinyasa Yoga will introduce you to the fundamentals of a Vinyasa yoga practice. Students will flow through sun salutations, balancing postures, core strengthening, and end with more restorative poses. In a beginners class, there will be more emphasis on alignment and technique throughout the poses.

This class is suitable for beginners or students who want to go back to the foundations, with modifications and props available to accommodate each student. Students are always encouraged to listen to their own bodies and take any rests if needed.
Power VInyasa

Power Vinyasa is a powerful, energizing flow synced with the breath. Poses will be held for longer periods with a focus on building strength. Students will flow through Sun A, Sun B, balancing postures, core strengthening, and end with more restorative poses. This class is suitable for all levels with modifications and props available to accommodate each student. Students are always encouraged to listen to their own bodies and take any rests if needed.

Slow Flow VInyasa

Slow flow vinyasa moves much slower than a standard vinyasa class. The focus is more meditative to allow peace and calm in the mind and body. Students will be lead through rounds of Sun As and flows, but at a slower pace with more of a focus on the breath. Restorative poses may be held for longer periods of time allowing the body to sink deeper.  This class is suitable for all levels with modifications and props available to accommodate each student.

Slow Deep Stretch Yoga

Deep stretch: as the seasons change, we are called to turn inward. This is a non flow, slow moving class that focuses on passive yin poses held for longer periods of time. Channeling the body’s deep connective tissues promotes flexibility, better circulation, improved organ health and release of blockages in nadis (energy centers of the body). Guided meditation and structured rest will support deep relaxation and stress management.

Yin Yoga & Tea

Wind down from your busy week with some yin yoga and an energizing tea blend. We’ll move through a series of yin poses to help relieve stress and tension from the mind and body. Poses are held for a longer period of time, typically 3-10 minutes each. You’ll hold each pose in a comfortable position, using props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps. This practice is less focused on alignment and finding your deepest stretch, but more on holding a pose for longer periods of time and allowing the body to surrender to the posture. This allows you to use your breath to find some comfort in the discomfort, both in your body and in your mind. We’ll end our practice by offering Holistic Tea Formulas after savasana rejuvenating you for the weekend. We have locally prepared tea formulas from Harris Holistic Wellness. All Certified Organic and Fair Trade, ethically sourced from around the world.

Restore & Refresh Yoga

Start your week with a grounded gentle flow. This class will focus on opening and energizing the body through gentle stretches and more restorative postures. You’ll leave feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, ready for the week!

This class is suitable for all levels with modifications and props available to accommodate each student. Students are always encouraged to listen to their own bodies and take any rests if needed.

Pilates Mat

Pilates Mat will take you through the classical mat sequence ranging from beginning to intermediate level focusing on the principles and fundamentals of Pilates. This is a great class to build core strength, flexibility, coordination, and a connection to mind, body and spirit.  We will use various props including pilates ball, stability ball, straps, blankets, pilates ring, and a weighted bar to help assist and go deeper into your practice. Mat work is a great addition to reformer and offers a greater challenge by using your own body weight in the movements.

TRX Pilates

TRX is a suspension trainer that hangs from the ceiling at a single anchor point. It creates instability and uses gravity as your resistance. This requires a high level of core activation and control. The straps give instant feedback to help identify imbalances in the body. The TRX is great for all levels because you can adjust your own level of difficulty by adjusting your body, hands, and feet. TRX is a great compliment to the Pilates mat repertoire because it gives many variations and an additional challenge. In this class you will see many of the same exercises that you would perform on the mat or the reformer but with a fun variation.

Intro to Aerial Yoga

This is a beginner level class which uses the silks in a low level position to help introduce the student to the fabric and aerial yoga. It offers easy use for students to help gain confidence lower to the ground before moving up to a higher level fabric, but still pushes the body towards a better flexibility and a more open mind.

Aerial Yoga

This is an all-levels class where students use aerial hammocks to gently support aerial poses and mindful stretches.  Aerial yoga is great foundation for aerial dance. You will learn many of the aerial postures while focusing on conditioning, strength building, flexibility, inverting, and balance, all which are very important to aerial dance. The class ends with a long relaxation stage in the hammock cocoon.

Candlelit Restorative Aerial Yoga
Candlelit restorative aerial yoga is done with the hammocks low to the ground by candle light. This is a gentle practice using various yoga props such as blankets, blocks, and bolsters, in addition to the aerial hammock. These props will help assist you in your practice so that you can fully surrender into the postures allowing you to hold them for longer periods of time. This class is the perfect way to wind down from your day and calm your body and mind for a more restful night.

Cristina

Cristina Romanello reveals the inner mysteries of the commonplace, allowing her audience to ponder the beauty of the scenes we so often take for granted. Cristina succeeds in evoking our sense of wonder by unveiling the usual to reveal the exceptional.

Her passion demanded that she put the art before the course- she developed her style in her hometown, Cleveland, with only a disposable camera and the wet streets as her studio. After studying photography professionally, she found the last piece she needed to create a world of beauty we might never have glimpsed if we hadn’t looked twice.

“There is beauty all around us, and having an instrument to capture and document these moments is remarkable”

Matt

Matthew Bowman is a professional dancer and 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Matt’s classes focus on alignment and efficiency in movement, stemming from his studies at The Ohio State University while earning his BFA in Dance from 2011 to 2015, concentrating on pedagogy and performance. Matt teaches vinyasa flow and powerful vinyasa flow at BE, with his classes possessing a fluidity of movement akin to a dance class.

Matt dances with the Dancing Wheels Company & School full-time, while also directing the School of Dancing Wheels, and managing the company’s social media, marketing communications, and web presence. While looking to expand his movement experience, Matt took his first pole fitness class at BE in November of 2020, immediately becoming addicted to the thrill of spin pole combinations. Outside of dance and yoga, Matt enjoys cycling across Cleveland, eating ice cream, and curling up with his cat, Par.

Colleen

Colleen came to a firm belief in the power of yoga and bodywork to heal trauma and foster personal growth through her own healing journey. Immediately experiencing the psychological benefits of movement, she knew she had to find a way to share yoga with others after years of developing a personal practice. Colleen completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through The Studio Cleveland’s program led by Sara Syed-Dissel in March 2020, and has plans to continue to deepen her practice and capacity to teach through further study in the future. Colleen works as a licensed massage therapist, lives and works in Lakewood, and loves to read, write, and tend her indoor garden.

Wanida

Wanida teaches Pilates, Pole, and Yoga at Be Fitness. She started teaching pole at Be in 2015 after falling in love with the freedom and expression in dancing. She is a Level 2 Peak Pilates instructor and a 500 hour advanced yoga instructor. She is also level 1/2 Xpert pole certified, Xpert flexibility flow certified, aerial yoga, a level 1 Spinning instructor, and a NASM certified personal trainer.

Wanida believes that movement heals the body and mind, whether you are dancing, practicing yoga or Pilates, or doing acrobatic tricks in the air. She hopes that her students find a sense of peace and appreciation for their bodies and movements throughout class. She believes that the most important part of class is learning and loving what your body is capable of doing. She hopes to help students feel empowered and confident in their own body and mind by creating better body awareness and control. She aims to give students a safe place to explore and be themselves with no judgement so that they can lead a more authentic life both in and out of the studio.

Outside of Be, Wanida lives with her boyfriend Joe, her dog Oliver, and their cat Gamora. She is learning to play golf and has noticed a significant improvement in her game since she started practicing Pilates on a more regular basis. She also collects sneakers and loves everything Sanrio, Marvel, and Tokidoki. She also teaches for Zenworks Yoga, a non-profit that teaches yoga in the Cleveland Municiple School District.
