Yoga & Aerial Yoga

YOGA and AERIAL YOGA are gentle ways to work on your strength and flexibility while promoting relaxation, reducing stress and creating better body awareness and mindfulness. We offer all-level classes in Vinyasa and Aerial Yoga. In both classes students are guided through a full-body sequence focusing on opening and strengthening the body. Aerial Yoga utilizes aerial hammocks in a low level position to gently support restorative poses and help you get deeper into your stretches.

Fill Your Cup Yoga and Tea– A Practice to Rest and Restore

Sundays are a day of rest. Come celebrate this concept with this restorative yoga/ slow flow hybrid. With the use of props, gentle stretching, long holds, and deep breaths, this practice gives you the space to unwind your nervous system and connect with your inner peace . Slow it down, fill your cup, and give yourself permission to enjoy an easy, relaxed, and restorative Sunday morning stretch

We will be offering Holistic Tea Formulas after savasana allowing you to ease back into your day. We have locally prepared tea formulas from Harris Holistic Wellness. All Certified Organic and Fair Trade, ethically sourced from around the world.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow incorporates alignment, body awareness, mindful breathing, and creative sequences of yoga postures to rejuvenate the body and refresh the mind. Modifications are offered throughout the practice to add an extra challenge or create more ease in the body; the intensity of the class is always yogi’s choice.

Beginners VInyasa Flow
Beginners Vinyasa Yoga will introduce you to the fundamentals of a Vinyasa yoga practice. Students will flow through sun salutations, balancing postures, core strengthening, and end with more restorative poses. In a beginners class, there will be more emphasis on alignment and technique throughout the poses.

This class is suitable for beginners or students who want to go back to the foundations, with modifications and props available to accommodate each student. Students are always encouraged to listen to their own bodies and take any rests if needed.
Slow Deep Stretch Yoga

Deep stretch: as the seasons change, we are called to turn inward. This is a non flow, slow moving class that focuses on passive yin poses held for longer periods of time. Channeling the body’s deep connective tissues promotes flexibility, better circulation, improved organ health and release of blockages in nadis (energy centers of the body). Guided meditation and structured rest will support deep relaxation and stress management.

Yin Yoga & Tea

Wind down from your busy week with some yin yoga and an energizing tea blend. We’ll move through a series of yin poses to help relieve stress and tension from the mind and body. Poses are held for a longer period of time, typically 3-10 minutes each. You’ll hold each pose in a comfortable position, using props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps. This practice is less focused on alignment and finding your deepest stretch, but more on holding a pose for longer periods of time and allowing the body to surrender to the posture. This allows you to use your breath to find some comfort in the discomfort, both in your body and in your mind. We’ll end our practice by offering Holistic Tea Formulas after savasana rejuvenating you for the weekend. We have locally prepared tea formulas from Harris Holistic Wellness. All Certified Organic and Fair Trade, ethically sourced from around the world.

Intro to Aerial Yoga

This is a beginner level class which uses the silks in a low level position to help introduce the student to the fabric and aerial yoga. It offers easy use for students to help gain confidence lower to the ground before moving up to a higher level fabric, but still pushes the body towards a better flexibility and a more open mind.

Aerial Yoga

This is an all-levels class where students use aerial hammocks to gently support aerial poses and mindful stretches.  Aerial yoga is great foundation for aerial dance. You will learn many of the aerial postures while focusing on conditioning, strength building, flexibility, inverting, and balance, all which are very important to aerial dance. The class ends with a long relaxation stage in the hammock cocoon.

Candlelit Restorative Aerial Yoga
Candlelit restorative aerial yoga is done with the hammocks low to the ground by candle light. This is a gentle practice using various yoga props such as blankets, blocks, and bolsters, in addition to the aerial hammock. These props will help assist you in your practice so that you can fully surrender into the postures allowing you to hold them for longer periods of time. This class is the perfect way to wind down from your day and calm your body and mind for a more restful night.

DiDi

Didi started her yoga journey at the beginning of college, after her flute professor recommended it to build breath support. She found the practice and discipline allowed her to breathe better, develop a deeper connection to her body, and built confidence. After discovering Yoga for All Musicians, she decided to get certified in yoga in hopes of giving her flute students these tools to succeed.

After moving back to Cleveland, she was able to dive even deeper into her newfound love for movement. She has gone on to learn and teach aerial yoga, aerial hammock, hoop, yoga, barre, pole, and pilates. Her training comes from many studios, but her training begins at the Arizona Circus School. She now travels to compete.

Didi loves challenging her students and making students aware of their own body. She stresses the importance of movement for ALL of her students – her musicians AND those in the studio! Her goal is to empower, strengthen and challenge all of her students, no matter what the class.

Outside of the studio, Didi is a flutist, artist, and drives a Zamboni. She holds a Bachelors of Music and a K-12 Teaching License, and will be completing a B.A. in Studio Art and a Masters of Arts Management and Cultural Entrepreneurship.

Colleen

Colleen came to a firm belief in the power of yoga and bodywork to heal trauma and foster personal growth through her own healing journey. Immediately experiencing the psychological benefits of movement, she knew she had to find a way to share yoga with others after years of developing a personal practice. Colleen completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through The Studio Cleveland’s program led by Sara Syed-Dissel in March 2020, and has plans to continue to deepen her practice and capacity to teach through further study in the future. Colleen works as a licensed massage therapist, lives and works in Lakewood, and loves to read, write, and tend her indoor garden.

Liz

In 2016, being an avid cosplayer, Liz stumbled upon a video of a cosplaying duo lyra act. She fell in love with the idea of being in the air, but didn’t know how to start. 2022 came around, and when planning her January vacation, she found BE. She decided that she wanted to spend her time off finally trying lyra, and immediately fell in love.

Aerial quickly became Liz’s escape from a high-stress job and turbulent relationship, allowing her the space to free herself mentally and strengthen herself physically. As she didn’t come from a dance or gymnastics background, she was able to overcome the anxiety of performing through BE and quickly moved on to start competing.

Liz wants to give every student that same comfortable space that she was given so that they can find empowerment in their practice. She wants everyone to feel supported in pushing past their comfort zone. She loves spanset work and feels the most beautiful during spin flows.

Outside of aerial, Liz enjoys hiking the National Parks, taking care of her plants, and seeing live music.
