Melissa

Melissa started taking pole in March 2019 and got certified to teach Pole 1 & 2 in February 2020. She struggled to find a workout that she really enjoyed until she found Pilates. She came to Be for reformer but had to try pole. She instantly loved it!

She has a background in dance and cheerleading and the pole tricks and combos offer a similar fun and challenging workout that she really enjoys!

She started teaching in June 2020. She is a school teacher by day! She loves helping others learn new skills and achieve their goals. She wants her students to feel strong and confident starting wherever they are in their practice so they can work together to set goals.

She mostly enjoys strength based tricks/spins & conditioning. Her goal is to work on creating mini combos that include each individual trick taught in class to integrate the dance portion.

Outside of the studio Melissa enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, exploring different types of music, reading, cooking, learning how to care for my plants, home projects.

Madison

Madison started yoga at the beginning of music school, after her flute teacher recommended it to build better breath support for her instrument. She found the practice and discipline allowed her to breathe better, develop a deeper connection to her body, and built confidence. After discovering Yoga for All Musicians, she decided to get certified in yoga in hopes of giving her flute students these tools to succeed. Hopefully to succeed not just in music, but also physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her goal to to empower, strengthen and challenge all of her students, no matter what the class.

After moving back to Cleveland, she was able to dive even deeper into her newfound love for aerial arts. Since then, Madison has gone on to get certifications in Aerial Yoga, Buti Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, Aerial Hammock, Lyra, as well as going further into her certification in yoga. However, she’s spent most of her time both taking and teaching aerial yoga classes in recent years. She loves challenging her students and making students aware of their own body. Madison stresses the importance of movement for her students in the studio, but also to her musicians.

Outside of the studio, Maddie teaches middle school and high school band, and is working towards getting her doctorate of musical arts in the future. She also loves to draw, paint, and drives a zamboni on the weekends.

MAribel

Maribel has been doing aerial and pole since September 2018. She got into aerials for fitness, because she hates the gym. She started with a Groupon to take a lyra class at Be Fitness and became hooked!

Her favorite part about aerials and pole has been discovering how strong and disciplined she is. She has never been able to do a pull up in her life and now can lift her body up and down all over the place. She put so much effort in learning and improving at the apparatuses, which reminds her of how much she can accomplish when motivated enough. She saw progress right away and that kept me coming back.

She teaches her classes in the way that she trains herself. Classes include lots of conditioning and repetition, to achieve that desired move or routine. Maribel’s favorite aerial moves are dynamics all the way, baby! She loves moves like Rolls, drops, and transitions.

Outside of aerials, Maribel is a plant and cat mother. Seems like a juxtaposition, but they’re learning to get along. Her 70+ plants, Lyra, Bellatrix, and herself are doing great!

Heather

Heather took her first pole class on a whim with a Groupon in 2015, but didn’t get hooked for good until an unlimited month at the end of 2017, when she really got an opportunity to see all that Be had to offer. As an AFAA-Certified bootcamp and cardio hip hop instructor, pole was a welcome combination of strength training and artistry. She loves that pole has so many aspects that there’s no end to what you can do and loves how supportive the Be family is of everyone’s accomplishments, big and small.
